Kieser Marathon

Finally tick it off your bucket-list or make it an annual event and run the most iconic stretch of road in Australia at the Great Ocean Road Kieser Marathon (44km). This truly is Australia’s most stunning running event. Experience surreal views and stunning landscapes as you wind your way along the wild and windswept Southern Ocean. Starting in Lorne, try spot Koalas as you make your way down the Great Ocean Road through Wye River, Kennett River and Skenes Creek before finishing in Apollo Bay… You’ll be pinching yourself the whole time.

Race Pack Distribution

Australian Competitors

  • Race Packs are only posted to those who register prior to 11.59pm Monday April 4th and provide an Australian address on their registration. If for any reason your Race Pack does not arrive, a replacement pack can be collected from the Race Week Office. Please note, if you register after 11:59pm Monday April 4th, you will be required to collect your Race Pack from the Race Week Office, please ensure nomination of either Lorne or Apollo Bay Race Week Offices, upon registration.

International Competitors
All international competitors are required to collect their packs from the Race Week Office.

Drink Stations

There will be 12 drink stations throughout the Kieser Great Ocean Road Marathon Course.

Water will be provided on course and you may also choose to carry your own sports drinks/gels with you. Please discard this rubbish at the bins provided at the drink stations.

Race Day Bus Information

A shuttle bus service will run from Apollo Bay to Lorne to get Marathon runners to the start line on Sunday 15th May

Return buses will travel from Apollo Bay back to Lorne after the event. Buses will commence at approximately 11am, last bus is at 3:30pm sharp.

You will be required to purchase a bus pass to enable you on these buses. This must be purchased during the online event registration process.

Getting to the start line in Lorne (depart from 5:45am):
Please note there are two departure points along Main St. Please make sure you are at the departure point for Marathon/Ultra Marathon runners. Exact locations will be published closer to the event.
