Day 1 Results

Thousands of runners, families and locals flocked to Apollo Bay today to celebrate the start of the 2024 Great Ocean Road Running Festival. Day one kicked off with a stretching sessions with Core Plus, followed by our shorter distance events including the Chobani Fit 14KM Paradise Run, Srilankan Airlines 6KM, 1.5KM Kids Gallop and crowd-favorite Apollo Bay Hotel Waiters Race.


Lissy Duncan took out the win in the Chobani Fit 14km Paradise Run, crossing the finish line in 45:5 with Dale Carroll the first male to complete the paradise run 41:57.

Evander Scott topped the podium in the SriLankan Airlines 6km Run, crossing the finish line in 18:04 with Elizabeth Winer  the first woman to complete the 6km distance in a time of 20:18.

Young running superstars and their families competed in the 1.5km Kids’ Gallop which was won by Mia Di Mieri  in the girl’s category with a time of 7:14, and Jasper Johnson  in the boy’s category completing the stunning track in 6:18.

In an exciting continuation of the sporting festivities, some of Australia’s most elite athletes will go head-to-head along the coast tomorrow for day two of the event. Brave participants will take on the Ultra Marathon (60km), Great Ocean Road Marathon (44km), Brooks Half Marathon (23km), High Sierra 12km Trail and 6.5km Trail Runs, and the 5km and 10km Great Ocean Road Walk.
