Dine with celebrity chef Frank Camorra

One of the world’s most scenic running festivals has teamed up with one of Australia’s favourite chefs, capping off an action packed weekend of running and entertainment at the Great Ocean Road Running Festival from19-20 May, 2018.

Frank Camorra, executive chef and co-owner of the highly acclaimed MoVida group of restaurants, will be dishing up an array of Spanish tapas for hungry participants and locals on Sunday, 20 May.

What better way to finish your Great Ocean Road Running Festival event than with a lunch prepared by MoVida’s own Frank Camorra along with live music at the Lorne Hotel?

With four restaurants, a bar and 21 cookbooks to his name, Frank Camorra welcomes the opportunity to share his love of Spanish cuisine by joining the weekend festival of events.

“I can’t wait to head down the Great Ocean Road and join festival goers in Lorne, a region that is close to my heart having spent time growing up in Geelong.

“Capturing views of the stunning coastline from the Lorne Hotel, I will prepare a menu that offers a taste of my homeland as I continue with my mission to share my passion for Spanish food.

“For a journey to my homeland I will be dishing up high quality fresh ingredients starting with Comida followed by Arroz Caldoso, then seafood wet rice accompanied by iceberg salad and breads,” Mr Camorra said.

Event Director Marcus Gale was delighted to announce the new event initiative: “Offering food lovers a unique Frank Camorra dining experience at such a magical setting as the Lorne Hotel overlooking the Great Ocean Road further enhances the event experience for our participants and the local community,” Mr Gale said.

Over 7,000 participants of all ages and abilities are expected to take part in one of seven events ranging from the 1.5km Great Ocean Road Kids’ Gallop to the 60km Ultra Marathon over the festival weekend.

Also in Lorne will be the scenic Great Ocean Road Walk (5km and 10km loop circuit) on Sunday, 20 May where participants have the rare opportunity to walk the dramatic coastline from Lorne taking in breathtaking views and nature with no traffic.

The Frank Camorra hosted lunch at the Lorne Hotel is another part of the evolving range of initiatives available to participants at the Great Ocean Road Running Festival. Over the event weekend there will be official hubs for music, film and wellness as part of the Lorne Passport that is available to participants.
