We’re excited to welcome thousands of people to the RACV Solar Great Ocean Road Running Festival in just over 3 weeks, including Surf Coast local Gary Ablett Jr who will be joining us for the 1.5 km Kids’ Gallop on Saturday morning.
Gary will take to the streets of Apollo Bay with hundreds of others registered for the Gallop. After the event, you’ll be able to meet Gary at RACV Solar’s stand within the Apollo Bay event hub – just look for the yellow banners!
Gary joined forces with RACV Solar in 2021, recognising the benefits solar could have on the environment and on his rising energy bills. Now with his own solar system and a battery installed by RACV Solar, he’s keen to encourage others along the Surf Coast and beyond to consider solar.
“As a Surf Coast local, I’m looking forward to running along this fantastic coastline in the Kids’ Gallop,” he says. “It’s great to see the festival’s focus on sustainability and how RACV Solar will bring this to life over the weekend.”

Register today to join Gary in the 1.5 km Kids’ Gallop and be sure to stop by RACV Solar’s stand to say hi and re-energise after your run.
