The Great Ocean Road marathon will be Vanessa’s fourth marathon in 9yrs. This will be her first Great Ocean Road Marathon, and her first time fundraising.  Having lost her mother in law Nola at the age 64 in 2020 after a long & brave fight with ovarian cancer for 4yrs, Vanessa will be running to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Research.

Five women are diagnosed with Ovarian cancer each day and three women die each day, that is one woman every eight hours The overall survival rate is 48% at five years.

Nola will be Vanessa’s inspiration completing the 44km course from Lorne to Apollo Bay. Nola fought every single day with ovarian cancer but always managed to keep smiling. Nola will miss her grandchildren’s graduations, their weddings and and her own children succeed their life own milestones.

Zackary Bray, running the Ultra Marathon (60km) for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia

Zack’s father had a fight with prostate cancer. He is one of the lucky ones that caught it early and was able to make a full recovery. Sadly there are too many out there who don’t. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide.

On Sunday the 15th of May, Zack will be taking on the 60km Ultra Marathon to fundraise much-needed funds to help Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. If you are in a position to help, please make a donation.
