Training Run Heads to Geelong

The road to race day continues – and this time, we’re heading to one of Victoria’s true homes of running.

Our second official Great Ocean Road Running Festival training run is set for Sunday 19 April at Landy Field in Geelong, and it’s shaping up to be one of the standout moments in the training calendar.

a venue steeped in running history

There’s something special about stepping onto Landy Field. Known as a hub for athletics, it’s a venue that has long been associated with performance, progression, and community – making it the perfect place to continue your Great Ocean Running Festival journey.

Whether you’re chasing a PB, building confidence, or simply enjoying the process, this session is about showing up and putting in the work alongside like-minded runners.

what to expect on the day

From 8:00am, runners will come together for a morning designed to keep you motivated, connected, and race-ready.

  • A welcoming, inclusive group environment
  • Fellow GORRF participants across all distances
  • Structured running with guidance from experienced leaders
  • A rain-or-shine setup, with undercover areas and activations

More details on pace groups and distances will be shared closer to the day — but one thing is certain: you’ll leave feeling stronger and more prepared.

more than just a run

Like everything we do at GORRF, this isn’t just about the kilometres — it’s about the community.

Training runs are your chance to:

  • Meet the people you’ll share the course with in May
  • Test your gear and routine ahead of race day
  • Build confidence in a supportive environment
  • Stay accountable as your training ramps up

And of course… we’ll be bringing the energy.

be there to win 👀

We’ll also have a stack of lucky door prizes up for grabs on the day.

🧴 Urbane Mess —  Run with style! Grab your free mini hairstyling puck, compliments of Urbane Mess. While stocks last.

🛏️ Ecosa — Rest Right. Recover Right. One lucky runner will win an Ecosa mattress of their choice, valued up to $2,330, to support their recovery in the lead up to the big day.

You need to be there to win!
